On Episode 12 of Beating The Odds we have ex-NFL player, artist, actor, philanthropist and business owner, Vernon Davis! Vernon had an extensive career in the NFL with 2 pro-bowl selections, leading the league in receiving touchdowns in 2009, and a Super Bowl Championship at Super Bowl 50 in 2016. Since his NFL career, Vernon has co-created a design agency, launched the Vernon Davis Visual Arts Scholarship as well as the Vernon Davis Foundation for the Arts. As an actor, Vernon has starred on BayWatch, The League, and Red Winter amongst others.
Vernon and Jim spoke about the transition out of the NFL. What does it really take to excel in a career after the NFL and what is it like transitioning to the acting space? Davis also noted that his mission is to help others: “for me it’s just encouraging people to be benevolent and to help each other - it’s all about helping each other.”
